About The Artist
From her studio within Tannery Row Artist Colony in historic downtown Buford, Georgia, Kristen Anderson creates her unique line of jewelry.
In a warehouse building over 100 years old, she and 18 other residents have space to create and pursue their art.
Kristen’s creativity is fueled by a rich variety of experiences including travels to Africa, South America, Greece and Israel, an education that includes a Master’s Degree from Emory University, several years as a therapist at an adolescent boarding school, and all of the joys and challenges of an expanding family. Drawn to jewelry since childhood, she later developed an affinity for visual arts, raising her awareness and interest in color and media combinations. Once she saw her
first piece of chanimaille she fell in love with the form and beauty of this ancient art. Once she made her first piece she discovered she loved the process of making it even more.Silver Box Designs opened in the Spring of 2003 and has grown steadily since then, earning loyal customers, repeat business, a presence in prominent galleries and acceptance into several prestigious art festivals. In addition, Kristen teaches the art of chainmaille to students at a local art studio. She is committed to mastering her craft and constantly evolving as an artisan by challenging herself technically, conceptually and visually.
