About The Artist It all started with the box. A simple silver prayer box to place our most sacred wishes, express our gratitude or remind ourselves of what is most important in our lives. The concept reminded me of the amazing experience of placing a prayer in Jerusalem’s wailing wall many years ago. When I started Silver Box Designs in 2003, I knew I wanted to create jewelry that had meaning for those wearing it. Sometimes as obvious as a word etched in metal and at other times more subtle as in the inter-connectivity of the jump rings in chainmaille. We all have stories that help define who we are. I bring my own defining experiences including time spent in East Africa, South America, Greece and Israel; earning a post-graduate degree from Emory University; practicing as a therapist at an adolescent boarding school; studying jewelry design and technique with incredibly talented artists; and having the amazing experience of motherhood. I recognize that the people who wear my jewelry have their own unique experiences and that a piece of jewelry can help tell that story, express who they are or help express their feelings towards someone else. I am always grateful to be a part of that connection. My studio is located in Tannery Row Artist Colony in downtown historic Buford, GA. Surrounded by a group of extremely talented and diverse artists, it is the perfect place to become inspired and seriously work on my craft. My jewelry is in several retail locations and I participate in many local art festivals each year. In addition, I teach the art of chainmaille at several local art studios. I am committed to mastering my craft and constantly evolving as an artisan by challenging myself technically, conceptually and visually.
